NANO 50 liter pilot brewery

The ZIP NANO brewery is our smallest brewing system designed for test brewing, recipe developing and to teach brewing technology. This small scale but highly automated unit can produce 50-55 liter cast out volume depending on the type of beer you intend to make.
In a typical 8-hour brew day our automated system reduces the brewer’s physical work to just a couple of hours. This makes the brewing process more convenient and allows the brewmaster to concentrate on the creative part of brewing, such as recipe and brand development.
Similar to our bigger systems the ZIP Nano can be operated with our self-developed, user-friendly software, the ZIPMATIC.The modern automated control system ensures proper step-by-step implementation of the processes of mashing, lautering, sparging, boiling with hops, whirlpooling, chilling and CIP-cleaning. An unlimited number of recipes can be saved in the equipment’s memory, and the parameters of the brewing process are also archived in graphical form.

As the NANO system is the mini version of our fully automatic, industrial brewhouse technology, the spare parts, pipework and the automation make it a top-of-the-line equipment that means a bigger investment in the beginning while the production requires less manpower, less risk of human error and finally less costs over time.

Aesthetic design

Besides the high technological spec, the system has an aesthetic appearance with functional design meaning that the NANO unit can be a point of attraction but also comfortable to use. The brewhouse block and the CCTs have a small footprint and they are completely mobile. The NANO is made of polished stainless steel WNr. 1.4301 and manufactured with AWI welding technology. The cooling unit is placed together with fermentation vessels on a frame (can be placed separately) with full piping, in turnkey condition.

The NANO system can be used on several fields:

While developing this system, our aim was to create such equipment that functions as a testing ground, a tool for market research to survey customer’s needs, a small brewery to organise workshops and to brew in front of an audience. This system gives the freedom of offering a wide variety of beers with different styles while constantly developing and modifying them.
